Best American Mystery Stories

My story, "Finn's Missing Sister," published in Needle, was shortlisted for the Best American Mystery Awards this year. It's pretty cool being in the same column as Lee Child.

The story is about Bobby Kovacki, a loner, who runs into an old high school friend, the derelict Pete Finn. Pete's sister has recently gone missing and he asks Bobby to go look for her.
You can find the story in this issue of Needle: http://www.lulu.com/shop/steve-weddle/needle-magazine-winter-2012/paperback/product-20019166.html;jsessionid=C75A954A2C75D69DAD31F304AF2BDE51

Steve Weddle, editor and publisher of Needle, says some kinds words about the story in this blogpost. Thanks Steve!

I've neglected this blog for some time but here are a couple of updates.
I had the pleasure to be invited to write a story for Grand Central Noir. My story is called "Mary Mulligan" and it's a prequel to "Hatpin," a story I wrote for Shotgun Honey.

Another story published was "Kick" in Literary Orphans. Literary Orphans is a great up-and-coming ezine that I really enjoy. I'm proud to be included.
